# Make your own viewer

![A custom viewer can be made with basic HTML + CSS + Javascript](/files/5nQi7jBRoaH9p86rnksi)

Ontime broadcasts its payload over websockets and it is available to any device in the local network.

With some basic skills in HTML + CSS + Javascript (or any language that can run in the browser) you are able to create your own viewers for ontime data. To get started, see [this javascript template in GitHub ](https://github.com/cpvalente/ontime-viewer-template-v2)and consult the [websocket API ](/v2/control-and-feedback/ontime-apis.md#osc-and-websocket-api)for any further clarifications.

This will enable you to create your own styles to match corporate or event identity. You can also use this to create any screen types unavailable with the app.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://ontime.gitbook.io/v2/features/make-your-own-viewer.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
